In keeping with its strategy of promoting a dialogue between contemporary art and heritage, Montjuïc Castle regularly hosts initiatives and installations by a variety of artists and groups. As part of its collaboration with La Escocesa, one of the city’s creation factories, the castle presents IMPASSE, by Julia Calvo.

IMPASSE invites the public to walk through the vaulted space of a methacrylate dungeon. A transparent wall, equally impassable in physical terms, which stimulates dialogue and introspection. A wall which acts as a metaphor for the limits of censorship and prohibition in the era of transparency. A wall, nonetheless, with a huge variety of etchings on its walls.
